08/30/2005 - 6th Annual Wine DinnerAn exceptional pairing of award-winning cuisine and wineJoin the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for its 6th Annual wine dinner on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 at their spectacular Foraker Dining Room, overlooking the Susitna River valley and Denali. This is the sixth year the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge has paired award-winning wine and cuisine together to create an unforgettable meal for its guests. Well-known wines such as Wild Horse, Elk Cove, Carol Shelton’s Rockpile Ridge Vineyards, Iron Horse Vineyards and Sebastiani Vineyards have been featured at past wine dinners. This year’s dinner will feature wines from the Coppola Winery, who have been in the winemaking business since the 1880s. For a more detailed menu, visit www.talkeetnalodge.com. “The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is an ideal location for the spectacular wine dinners hosted by Executive Chef Felix Zollinger and Fernando Salvador. The food is amazing, the wines are always a treat and the view of nearby McKinley is astounding,” said Allison Knox, public relations manager for CIRI Alaska Tourism. The cuisine served at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge wine dinner is prepared by the award-winning Chef Felix Zollinger, who has been featured on the Food Network. The menu includes noisettes of venison with armagnac au jus, coconut prawns laksa with kafir lime and much more delicious fare. A dark Belgian chocolate mousse is served for dessert. Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is owned and operated by the CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation (CATC). The Corporation’s products also include Kenai Fjords Tours, Prince William Sound Cruises & Tours, Seward Windsong Lodge, Mariah Tours, Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge and the Anchorage RV Park. CATC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), one of 12 Alaska-based regional Native corporations. The cost to attend the wine dinner is $89 per person. To overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and enjoy the wine dinner, the cost is $119 per person based on double occupancy. The deadline for reservations is September 9.
